The Ghost Town Firehouse

Again today, I'm posting some pictures in response to another blogger's post about Knott's. The subject was the Ghost Town Firehouse and the fire wagon located inside. I have another photo of the firehouse and wagon from about 1974.

Here's a photo how the firehouse looks today.

And now here are some pictures of the fire wagon as appears in its storage location today.

  1. Well that's a little depressing to see it all bright and shiny in Major Pepperidge's photo and then see it in it's current condition....but thanks for giving us a sneak peek at it anyway! I really like that painting that's hanging behind it. Would that have been from the Steak House?

  2. Is it just me, or does the backstage area at Knott's seem to contain more historical attractions (that we all miss) than what we see today around Ghost Town? Why keep all these great relics of the past sitting dormant behind closed doors when it would serve a greater purpose to bring them all back out for the masses to see? What is Knott's management thinking?

  3. Whoa! How did it get so worn and beat up? Was it artificially aged so that it would look more antique (in spite of the fact that it really IS antique)?? Crazy
